Method
This index exists because AI assistants asked what something costs in Singapore currently answer from stale search snippets, and because the largest retailers here are unreadable to them.
How a price gets onto this site
We fetch the retailer's own product page and read the price and availability shown on it. That reading is dated. Where a price came from another aggregator rather than the retailer directly, the table says via PriceMe and you should treat it as second-hand.
What we will not do
- Estimate, infer or carry forward a price we could not read.
- List a retailer whose page we could not fetch.
- Accept payment for inclusion, position or favourable presentation. There is no advertising on this site and no retailer has any commercial relationship with it.
Why no advertising
Partly principle, mostly evidence. In testing on a separate site, pages carrying a labelled sponsored block were cited zero times out of three by an AI assistant, while the identical page without one was cited three times. A price index that is not trusted is worth nothing, and advertising appears to be a fast way to stop being trusted.
Known limitations
- Coverage is small and Singapore-only.
- Shopee, Lazada and Amazon.sg are not included and are often cheaper.
- Prices are correct as at the date shown and not live.
- Vouchers, member pricing and cart-level discounts are not reflected.
Corrections
If a price here is wrong, it will be corrected in place with a note saying what changed and when.
